I have always loved art. I had less time during college to create outside of class, but I still enjoyed sketching, coloring, and painting. These are some pieces I have done in the past few years, some for assignments and others for fun.
Lion King Inspired Collage -
This collage was made in Photoshop using the paintbrush and blur tools. The only portion that was not hand done is the lion which was originally a photo that was edited to fit the project. The composition of this project was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Old Tower in the Fields.
Fields of Bean -
This image was a project for Art History that required the students to create their own image inspired by Japanese art.
Luminaire -
This luminaire created for Lighting Design was inspired by the nature of skyscrapers. Stretching vertically, it gives off a glow similar to buildings lit at night and is coated with a metallic silver paint.
Sundial -
This sundial designed for Environmental Systems takes its inspiration from the sun. It is a lasercut basswood model designed in Auto Cad and painted metallic Gold.
Church of Our Savior on Fallen Blood Collage -
This collage is hand-drawn using Prismacolor grey markers and is based on the Church of Our Savior on Fallen Blood Cathedral in St. Petersburg Russia. This collage was created as an assignment for Architectural History.
Starry Night Parody -
This parody of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night uses elements from Disney's 1998 film Mulan. The composition of the piece stays the same as Van Gogh's but elements are replaced with aspects from the popular film.
Cube
This cube was designed for a studio class as a model for an art exhibit piece. This project was one of 4 from both classes that was scaled up and displayed in the School of Architecture Gallery. This was only cube chosen to be scaled to a life size, walkthrough cube.
Color Study
This project for a studio class asked for students to take an image of an architectural space and paint it using shades and tints of two colors.
Butterfly
This is a marker drawing that I did one evening using Prismacolor markers.
Dragonfly
During my time job searching I decided to start sketching again. This black and white dragonfly was one of the first sketches. I drew it with pencil and went over the main lines with black colored pencil.
Sunflower Embroidery
This was the first embroidery project I did. I started to learn embroidery while I was job searching.
Rose Embroidery
This was my second embroidery I finished. I made it for someone who cannot see as well and would enjoy feeling outlines rather than a full piece.
